What is Scalp Micropigmentation?

For both men and women, scalp micropigmentation is an effective hair loss solution. This non-surgical precision process has been shown to be both safe and efficient. Scalp Micropigmentation imitates the appearance of real hair follicles and gives the illusion of a close-shaven scalp. Scalp micropigmentation is often also referred to as SMP.

Scalp Sense offers an aesthetic solution to hair loss.

It’s time to stop worrying about hair loss and ensure your confidence will be back on track. Stop hiding beneath your hat, utilising unruly hair products and finally be proud of your hairline.

Aftercare

A very important part of the process is what happens when you aren’t with us! Aftercare is of massive importance, and this should be stressed thoroughly.

Following your treatment there will be some mild redness which will subside in the following two or three hours after treatment.

Rarely, if ever pain relief is needed but if you feel you do need some, your preferred over the counter pain relief will suffice. Do not add any topical pain relief.

Do not shower your head for at least 48 hours, after this water can be used to cleanse the area but try not to let a powerful shower directly hit the scalp from close range, as this may disturb the pigment.

Do not use shampoo, soap or any cleansers for at least 5 days and only once any dryness/scabbing has subsided.

Avoid any moisturiser or topical creams or lotions for at least 5 days or until any dryness/scabbing has subsided.

Intensive exercise should be avoided for as long as possible, at least 3 days is recommended. If you are desperate for a workout, try to steer clear of anything that will cause you to sweat profusely or that will increase the blood pressure to your face and scalp.

Try to keep the treatment out of direct sunlight, especially during the summer for about 5 days following treatment. To maintain the quality of the treatment in the long term, an SPF should be used to avoid fade.

Do not wet shave your head until ANY/ALL scabbing and dryness have subsided. You can use a foil shaver or clippers before but be very gentle. If you can, try to save shaving your head until the day before your 2nd and 3rd treatments so that the pigment can take fully.
